The funny things they say!

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

I have forgotten to take my camera with me for the past few weeks.  I headed off to Mom and Dad's to be with Dad and let Mom have the day to herself and realized I don't have it with me, again.  I wanted to take a self portrait of me and Dad...  Next time.

A few nights ago, Dan announced that he was going to get rid of the squeak in the floor board in our family room.  We have lived with this for over three years now and I was a little surprised.  He asked me to take everything off of my book shelves and the entertainment center before he got home from work.  He and Chloe just found 25 pages of cheats and hints for their fishing game on the Wii and were catching some really big fish with each others help.  It had been a while since anyone had played this game and Dan kept asking Chloe how he was supposed to switch from his tackle box and his many types of bait.  She kept answering him, "Push the B button Dad, Can't you read?"  She is getting to be such a good little reader, she is full of herself!  She came home from school on Monday with 100% on her first spelling pre-test.  The words are assigned to them and if they spell them all correctly they get extra challenge words for the week ~ what kind of backwards prize is this?  She loves it anyways!!!  After they stopped playing games for dinner, he got busy getting rid of the squeaks by drilling screws into the floor, after pulling up the carpet.  Both kids were freaking out that he was ruining our house!

Dan and I have been slogging through head colds.  There is an annoying tickle that just sticks in the back of your throat and is very persistent at night.  Last weekend, he thought he felt just fine and was going to go out early, Saturday morning to try to call in some coyotes and get some target practice under his belt.  He had invited brothers and neighbors but no one could make it.  He resolved to bring Seth.  They were gathering warm clothing and boasting about their soon to be kills when he came in and informed me, the mother!  I very nervously made him vow to bring my baby home in one piece without any extra holes!!!  Seth came in to tell me he was going to take his gun hunting {the one he got from Grandpa Thomson} and he was going to kill some bunnies.  I said to him that if he goes with Dad, he wont be a baby anymore, he'd be a man and there would be no more snuggling with mommy.  He quickly changed his mind and refused both Dan and my own attempts to get him to go.  I was very excited for him to go with Dan, me and Chloe could have some girl time of our own.  Fortunately, Dan took a sleep aid that night and got some sleep but still didn't feel well enough to go, with or with out Seth; my boy who is not quite ready to be a man!!!

Happy Birthday Uncle Josh

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

I found this costume last year after halloween on clearance.  This year I have been looking for an iron man costume for Seth to dress up in, in a size 6-7.  Dan took a picture with his phone of Chloe in the woopie cushion the day we dug the halloween boxes out of the basement.  Grandma asked if she could borrow the costume for Uncle Jelly Bean and I really don't think we'll ever get it back ~ he loved it almost as much as he loves bathroom humor of all types and sorts!!!

Halloween Party

Thursday, October 28, 2010

Today I got to help out during Chloe's class party.  About half way through this witch came cackling in passing out snickers candy bars.  The blond haired boy on Chloe's right actually got up out of his seat when he notice her coming near him.  She startled all of us, I jumped.  We found out later is was one of the kids' grandma!  I brought in Laura's Mr. Hal O. Ween game of body parts dug up out of the ground ~ they loved it!  Sadly this is the best picture I took of Chloe in her costume...  I will have to try harder for Halloween!!!

Locked Out

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

I went visiting teaching today at 12:30.  My partner picked Me and Seth up.  Before I pulled my locked front door shut, I made sure I had my house key on my key ring {normally we go through the garage}.  We stayed too long at our sisters house.  My partner dropped us off and we got the mail and headed to the front door with the zucchini bread my sweet partner had made!  I put everything down on the table on my porch and attempted  to open the door.  The key would barely go in and I had to push really hard to get the entire key in.  When I realized it wouldn't turn, I saw my visiting teaching sister drive away, waving...  Then it started to hail...  I called Tom to see if he could use his muscles to turn the key, he didn't answer.  I called Jenn to see if we could huddle at their house, she didn't answer.  I checked all of the doors around the house and had the same results.  I called Dan to ask him to come home early from work and let us in our house.

Dan came and picked us up from Tom and Jen's and determined that the key I have doesn't go to our house, go figure!!!

Funny Boy

If you can't tell from this first picture, why this little boy is so happy and excited, Maybe you can tell from this picture:
He was so excited when he found this little kid shopping cart and was all too happy to push it around the entire grocery store. I was a little nervous to be leading, worried more about the backs of my heals than anything else... Funny Boy!

Fall Recess

How early is too early?

If you ask Dan, you can't be too early...  To catch these big guys:

We had so much fun at Strawberry Reservoir:
I am such a good sport, too:
The morning frost was still on the grass as we arrived in Heber.  The frost was on the water MEANING there was little to no wind.  It took Dan a little while to find us the perfect niche but once we started catching fish, the other boaters kept creeping in closer and closer to us!

I Love Kohl's

Thursday, October 7, 2010

I found these sheets a couple of months ago at Kohl's.  I had been looking for a mustard yellow sheet for ever.  We have had red in the past but the red in my bedspread is very hard to match and it was never quite right.  I came across these sheets when they were on sale, I scored an additional 30% off coupon and I had Kohl's cash.  I have never (that I know of) slept in $160 dollar, 800 thread count sheets before but for $26 I thought they would be worth a try!!!
I try to put lotion on my feet and sleep with socks on at night, but sometimes I am too tired to go through the motions and even sleep with my make up on {Shocking, I Know!!!}  but this is the second fitted sheet that had gotten a rip in the bottom right hand corner of the sheet, right were my feet are.  I called Kohl's this morning to see if they sell fitted sheets separately from a set and the women in bedding replied that they don't.  I explained to her my problem and she told me to bring everything in and they'll replace the set.  I had to drive all the way to West Valley to get the right color, it was even the last set in the state, but it was definitely worth it.  I love Kohl's and their customer service, they rival Costco and my obsession with everything there!!!

Do you have it?

Wednesday, October 6, 2010

Can you see it?

If you come to our house, you will soon have it...
Chloe, Seth and Dan have been chasing each other around, giving everyone the cheese touch!

There was a picture of a burger sitting on my key board but I didn't think that was cute for some reason... Chloe drew this picture of the cheese from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie and placed it on Seth's pillow. He got to go to his very first birthday party and Chloe was a little bummed that she wasn't invited. I reminded her that Seth wasn't invited to her party and I guess this was her way of getting back at him! He was so cute, he walked in their door and gave his friend Kennady her present and she hugged him from the side and kissed him on the cheek. I told Dan about it and when he picked Seth up and asked him about it he was all, "I didn't kiss a girl!!!" When Dan asked if she kissed him, he was all "NO!" Then he said that I told him that she kissed him on the cheek and Seth said, "She missed and kissed my hair..."

So Chloe and Dan picked Seth up from the party and she told him she left him a surprise on his pillow, if you look really closely you can see the hair she attached to it!

There's a hair on it!!!

My Friends

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Since snuggling Chloe back to health and sending her back to school, I have had a massive head cold. I've had a stuffy nose and my head is so congested that it feels like it is going to blow up, just like that little midget on fringe the other night. I feel OK as long as I don't lay down horizontally and as long as I have plenty of these friends in me. I'm afraid that if I can't get rid of this on my own, I will have to visit another kind of friend, the doctor type who will more than likely tell me that antibiotics will not be prescribed to me and I will have to stay the course...

She lost another one...

Sunday, October 3, 2010

After celebrating her birthday party with her friends, I swept up the crumbs and put everyone to bed.  Then I ran over to Tom and Jenn's to watch Iron Man 2 ~ I loved it!!!  I came home to Chloe waiting up for me in the family room, she was burning up with a fever.  I gave her some medicine and some ice water and kissed her goodnight.  She woke up still hot and stayed home from school.  She was so mad at me.  She got even madder when I called Dan to let him know that we wouldn't be going to bear lake for conference weekend.  There were a lot of long nights with my seven year old snuggling up and whimpering when the medicine had worn off and too much of her feeling just fine when the medicine was doing it's job.  I think it was all due to her molars coming in...
