No More Snow Tires?
Thursday, March 25, 2010
Thursday we had an appointment with the Mazda Dealership to swap our snow tires for our summer tires. I'm sure it just me but I kind of laughed at Dan when he asked me if I can hear the difference between the two sets of tires. Does he mean over my Glee soundtrack pumping from the speakers or does he me over the kids tickling and poking each other with a range between laughter and tears of complaint? I consider myself lucky to hear an emergency vehichles blaring siren on a good day, but nope I can't tell the difference, sound wise, between winter and summer tires!
It took about an hour waiting for four tires to be located, balanced and aligned. Seth was kicking back, drinking his capri sun and watching word world on my ipod, then he found the toys and could have stayed even longer. I was happy to be sitting still, I am half way through the new Fablehaven book, Keys to the Demon Prison. This is the fifth and last book that Brandon Mull will write in this series. I absolutely love the characters Kendra and Seth. They are a brother and sister team to rival Charlie and Lola! Not to spoil the plot but this book was so funny, Newel and Doren the satyrs decide to help save the world for a flat screen tv, generator and 200 gallons of gas ~ of course. Because they were involved more, there was more humor. I really think, for a kid {P.S. this is a childrens novel}, that with all of the doom and gloom of the world is going to be taken over by all of the deamons and every other evil thing, a little humor adds that perfect touch! My favorite line is when they are all charging into battle and one of the goat men shouts out, "for Frito Lay!"After the dealership we stopped at two body shops to get quotes to fix my sad car. Although it looked like scratches that could be buffed out, the bumper is trashed and will have to be replaced. This picture is of Seth at the first place we stopped, he really like the fire place!
I was surprized at how much both of the estimates were. They ranged from $850 - $1,000. And here I didn't call the police because it didn't look like that much damage. The guy that hit me is being really nice and responsible about the whole situation, but I think from this point foward, if I were ever involved in another accident, I would call the police ~ no matter what!
I was watching the news and the weather was reporting more snow. Maybe I switched them too soon ~ sad!
