We've had the Fu Man Chu!

Saturday, January 26, 2013

This bug is kicking our butts. Seth threw up in the middle of the night, Chloe and Seth continued on with it coming out all orifices after she threw up at FHE. It has been off and on and off and on.

Not the best way to celebrate Seth's birthday but what are you going to do.  Between the germs they pick up at school, the inversion and the fact that they are gross children that most likely touch and probably lick everything it's a miracle we are still alive!

Ipecac is on my mind!

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

We are back from the doctor's office and Seth has croup. highly contagious croup. highly contagious, viral/no cure, wait it out, croup. He was a sport and wore his mask in the office as well as to the pharmacy to fill his prescription for steroids to lesson the inflammation of his throat. Thankfully his lungs sound fine and his ears look great.

We were given this nifty little blue bag to catch Seth's throw up in. {I wish I had enough nerve to steal a few extra out of the cupboard for road trips.} Plus as soon as we got home he threw up in my bed!!!

So I keep thinking about Anne of Green Gables and when she saved
Diana Barry's little sister by forcing ipecac down her throat.
I think it might have been taken off the shelf, any suggestions?
The doctor recommended a humidifier & a spoonful of honey...
{not to be confused with a spoonful of sugar!!!}

It's as if we've had a visitor that wanted to stay a while...
he's not very funny:

And he doesn't sound very good:

He's not one bit cool:
But we have had a very tiny visitor:
Meet Seth's Frog:

I've made him an appointment for this afternoon

It's not a thankless job!

Monday, October 19, 2009

Chloe presented these special notes to me with her heartfelt appreciation of taking care of her. Then she asked me, very nicely, if there was any way that I could do a better job of it and actually get her well... She and Seth both had high fevers Saturday and Sunday night. I don't think either Dan or I have ever been more tired. I was hoping Chloe would be well enough to go back to school but after a morning of no fever or medication and an afternoon nap ~ she started burning up again... I called her pediatrician who advised not coming in without certain symptoms and because Chloe and Seth are drinking plenty of fluids and not dehydrated they are probably just going to get over it on their own. But like Chloe, I wish they were already healthy and happy!

Chloe's Back!!!

Saturday, October 17, 2009

She's back!!! Chloe has been sick with a med~high fever for the past two days. She missed her first ever field trip and the chance to ride on a real live school bus!!! I have been so afraid of the swine flu and all of the horrible complications and deaths that have been in the news. I think she has had a little flu because as long as she was medicated her fever was low and she acted very normal ~ all running around and teasing her brother, eating and drinking all regular like. Usually her fever would spike in the night when the medication wore off. I moved our small TV & DVD player into her room and she spent all of last night up watching movies. I was so glad that when she finally did wake up, she had no fever! She's Back!!!
Dan went fishing this morning with Seth & Uncle Guy while Chloe and I went to our wards Super Saturday and made this paper wreath. It was shown hanging on ribbon but I think I am going to put a tall hurricane jar in the middle with a candle and other holiday items!!!

It was a little time consuming but I might make one for each season!
