Merry Christmas

Thursday, December 25, 2014

After a fabulous party with Dan's family last night and Seth begging to be allowed to go to bed while his cousins were still here, we woke up this morning (they patiently waited for me to rise) at 4:30 AM!
Her LAVA LAMP came with a solid chunk of goo and took 4-6 hours to warm up.
Seth asked for a church coat and orange tie that was real; not a clip on or zipper tie.
He was surprised to get an air soft gun set with protective masks!!!
Dan had charged the paddles in preparation of hours of play time with the
new MX vs. ATV SUPERCROSS game!!!
Blue is her new favorite color!
 Seth's stuff
 Dan's Pile
 My Gifts
 Chloe's Presents
I found these downloadables on Pinterest and loved how they turned out.

The War
Seth got his awesome orange jacket from Grandpa and Grandma Davis Christmas Eve.  He slept in it and still hasn't taken it off!

With oven baked french toast for breakfast and cinnamon syrup to top off a special Christmas Breakfast, we are all ready to go back to bed.  But even as I'm typing this the snow is falling in huge fluffy flakes.  Both Chloe and Seth are outside trying to build a snowman, maybe they'll have a better chance this afternoon.  Seth has been discouraged with all weathermen and wouldn't believe the news reports but we are all so glad for a White Christmas!!!

Swimming Lessons

Thursday, November 13, 2014

These kids are so funny.  They loved Wave 4 swimming lessons at the Clearfield Aquatic Center.  Seth hasn't loved the lessons in the past and was dreading wasting so much time that could be better spent getting dirty.  They learned deep water bobs and both were able to touch the bottom of the pool in the 12 foot section multiple times!  They worked on their breaststroke - 15 yards, back crawl, front crawl and elementary backstroke - 30 yards.  I tried to get a video of them swimming the length of the pool but it never worked out...

I loved these photo's of Seth coming out of the water!  He is so proud that he can touch the bottom, doing a 'pencil dive'.  He holds himself as strait and shoots right down, and then takes for-e-ver to come back up!  His gasp for air seems so loud!
Chloe passed wave 4 and will move onto wave 5 but Seth needs to work on his technique and conditioning and will be repeating wave 4.  It is so surprising, he usually is braver, stronger and faster at physical things.  He spurs her into action when she would normally hold back.  He does love to dive and works harder on that but she has really come into her own - she loves to swim and is a little fish or mermaid!  She was so fast and worked really hard to master the various stokes!

He Is So Clever:

Friday, August 22, 2014

Man, do I love this kid!  He can build almost anything out of LEGOs and will build and rebuild something until it is just how he wants it.  Needed a trailer to haul all of his dirt bikes around, no problem.  Hitch not working out like he wanted, no problem.  Bike rack to heavy for your truck, no problem!  Now if I can just make sure that we have enough tape and heavy stones, there will be - no problem!!!

Ogden Temple Open House

Monday, August 11, 2014

It is so beautiful!  To say that those of us that usually would go to the Ogden temple are excited that it will be opening soon is putting it mildly.  I feel so blessed to have so many beautiful temples near us!

And that there is Farr's ice cream right next to our beautiful new temple,

Now He Can Retire

Wednesday, August 6, 2014

Last night I got to go through the temple with my niece, Megan.  When I woke up this morning, Dan had sent me the photo's he snapped with his phone.  I got a good morning kiss from my sweet son and then soon after, "Can you take video of me jumping?"  After my late night (I got home at 11:30) it was all I could do to get the kids off to school.  This is the video we captured of him and his buddy:
He was just practicing with 1 Step, and he landed 3 Step!
Seth had stuck the 4 Step and after a couple of tries, got it on film:
He was complaining that his wrist hurt but Dan had offered him $5
and the chance to use Dad's GoPro...
He did it, the bar fell after he cleared it and so, he is ready to retire!
Dan measured the jump height:
 31 Inches ~ Cleared!!!
