Babysitting Derby

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Our Activity Days girls are so cute and fun.  They love to have any activity that focuses on Baby Sitting, as most of them are almost 12 and dieing to go and and get paid to sit on babies!

As fast as they could they had to first spin the twister board
They were blindfolded and fed a bibbed 'baby' some apple sauce
 They raced to fold Laundry

try to find five blocks to spell a word
Help with homework
color pictures
Take a detailed telephone message
They changed their baby dolls diaper and clothes
Read a story out loud

They attempted a hole in one but it was more like one hundred
They jumped rope to the cones and back
After everyone had tried each station
we played a game like I've been tortured with at a baby shower.
Each diaper held a few mini candy bars that were melted and squished up a bit...
We tried to associate each part of the game to something
they might experience when they were babysitting.
I think the girls really had a good time!

Minute to Win It

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

We got together with all of the activity days girls to play the game show.
Blowing one single bubble through the hula hoop
Shaking the gumballs from the top bottle to the bottom
Balancing 5 dice on a Popsicle stick
Balancing 5 dice on a Popsicle stick and taking your own picture!!!
Moving a cookie from your forehead to your mouth with out using your hands
My teaching partner SheRie has the cutes little dog that Chloe and Seth just love.
Although I've never seen the show, I loved watching the kids try to accomplish each task.  Plus when everyone was playing I got to hold the doggie!!!

Good Bye Ogden Temple

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

We headed up to the Ogden Temple for our activity this afternoon.  We thought it would be a fun picture for each girl in front of the temple before the remodeling began.  We will be having a 'T' Party soon for our recognition night and we will be talking about temples, testimonies, talents, and other fabulous T words.  This is such a fun calling, I can't believe Chloe will get to start activity days in the fall!

Rain Gutter Ragatta

I don't remember being jealous of the boy scouts or Tommy for getting to be a scout.  There are pictures of me reading a book sitting around at Tom's own pine wood derby.

Since I have been called to the Activity Days group of girls I thought it would be super fun to have our own pine wood derby.  Then I learned about the cost just to rent the track and the amount of work it takes to set it all up...  One of the primary leaders told me about the boats the scouts have to race and knew this was just for this fun group of girls.  They still get excited about just about everything, they still volunteer to say the prayer and they are friends with everyone.

We had thirteen boats, a whole lot of breath and some crazy cheering ~ it was really fun!
