My Son, My Deacon

Sunday, February 25, 2018

  • He passed the sacrament to me today.
  • When I woke up, he was showered and dressed just needing to do his hair. I told him his tie was looking a little too small. He gave me a half smile and said, "I can fix that!" I was so impressed that he just untied then retied his tie, like a man!
  • It was a snowy and chilly morning and Dan dropped Chloe and me off at the doors of the Church. When we entered the chapel, I caught Seth's attention and wordlessly asked him which side to sit on. He used his eyes to let me know to sit on the right side near the front.  After Dan parked the car and joined us, he was wondering why we weren't in our normal spot.
  • I kept thinking about the families in the pews in front of us and was happy that they didn't have little kids that would slow down the bread and the water.
  • I didn't cry until after he had taken the tray back from me. He looked me in the eye and I held onto the tray for just a moment longer.
  • I am so thankful for the sacrament and the covenant that I renew each time I partake.
  • I am so thankful for my son who is worthy to pass the sacrament to me.
