Chloe came home today in a whirlwind of worry. Her teacher wants all of the kids to bring in their valentines boxes tomorrow and we didn't have one for her. I already had the suckers for her treats and I had plans for her cards ~ very simple, very cute. I looked at Wal-Mart and they had some $3.50 mailbox type boxes that came with cards and treats. I thought she would enjoy making her own box at home. We went through all of my scraps of fabric and felt. I thought it would be cute to do some felt on top with a tu tu around the sides of the lid. Chloe wanted to do pom poms and she convinced me to let her do it her way when she declared that she could put the pom poms on in a pattern ~ just like their learning at school! I did get to use up some more of the wretched purple rickrack that I ordered for her baby bumper and nursery before she was born!!! I wish I could have found a smaller box to start out with but maybe next year. P.S. Seth was just fidgeting with jealousy!!!
So I made this:
I love blocking out all of the early morning bright lights but when I don't remove my makeup at night (BAD) the sleep mask I have needs to be laundered. Now I have a back up and this is what it looks like on Seth {You might be surprised how hard it is to take a self portrait, blind folded}!!!
When Chloe got home she joined the scrap booking and was determined to add some stitching to her newest page:
She was halfway through her second layout when I warned her that she can't be in my office if she sucks her finger again. She is currently watching Star Wars!
She's back!!! Chloe has been sick with a med~high fever for the past two days. She missed her first ever field trip and the chance to ride on a real live school bus!!! I have been so afraid of the swine flu and all of the horrible complications and deaths that have been in the news. I think she has had a little flu because as long as she was medicated her fever was low and she acted very normal ~ all running around and teasing her brother, eating and drinking all regular like. Usually her fever would spike in the night when the medication wore off. I moved our small TV & DVD player into her room and she spent all of last night up watching movies. I was so glad that when she finally did wake up, she had no fever! She's Back!!!
Dan went fishing this morning with Seth & Uncle Guy while Chloe and I went to our wards Super Saturday and made this paper wreath. It was shown hanging on ribbon but I think I am going to put a tall hurricane jar in the middle with a candle and other holiday items!!!
Friday night after Erin left, I headed over to My Young Women's Presidents house to make necklaces for all 48 girls for the up coming young women in excellence. I thought we would be using the 7 colors and stringing beads or something... But no, I learned how to use a soldering iron!!! We made most of the gorgeous necklaces and even though I can't show them ~ they are a surprise, I can't wait for the girls to receive them. I stayed until about 12:30 and got home and was still not ready for bed, but

We got up at 5:30 AM to go fishing. I finally fell asleep around 1:30 and was surprised that I was able to wake up and was willing to be blindly lead to strawberry reservoir. But, alas, it was so windy we didn't even put the boat in the water. So I napped a little more and we drove to deer creek, I launched the boat at 10:30 and Dan fished until noon, while I slept a little more.
We had a picnic lunch at the parking lot of the marina and Dan was telling us that this mountain is the back side of Timpanogos Cave all covered in snow! Can you see the remaining red and orange leaves on the lower half of the mountainside? So long fall, hello winter!
