Today I went to Kohl's with Seth while Chloe was at school. He loved that my hair kept blowing out the sun roof! We found a shirt for him that was on sale for $11, it came with a skate board! He see's big boys riding these scary rip sticks and tells me thats what he wants for his birthday... I also found a pair of shoes for me on clearance for $12. Sunday's paper had a coupon for $10 of any $20 purchase, so I got the skate board for $5 and the shoes for $6! SCORE!!! I also found these:
Friday night after Erin left, I headed over to My Young Women's Presidents house to make necklaces for all 48 girls for the up coming young women in excellence. I thought we would be using the 7 colors and stringing beads or something... But no, I learned how to use a soldering iron!!! We made most of the gorgeous necklaces and even though I can't show them ~ they are a surprise, I can't wait for the girls to receive them. I stayed until about 12:30 and got home and was still not ready for bed, but

We got up at 5:30 AM to go fishing. I finally fell asleep around 1:30 and was surprised that I was able to wake up and was willing to be blindly lead to strawberry reservoir. But, alas, it was so windy we didn't even put the boat in the water. So I napped a little more and we drove to deer creek, I launched the boat at 10:30 and Dan fished until noon, while I slept a little more.
We had a picnic lunch at the parking lot of the marina and Dan was telling us that this mountain is the back side of Timpanogos Cave all covered in snow! Can you see the remaining red and orange leaves on the lower half of the mountainside? So long fall, hello winter!
After two nights of Erin's kids not wanting to sleep without her snuggled up next to them and two nights of my kids wanting to help and join in the scrap booking, I finally finished this four page layout from our trip to Fish Lake last year. I am exactly a year behind and it is killing me!
Chloe has been learning a new song each day this week so that she can learn and remember how to spell each color. Her kindergarten teacher invites all of them to wear the color of the day, if they have it. Today was the color red and she was so glad that she has red pants! She said everyone was wearing a green shirt on monday and a blue shirt on tuesday. She wanted to be different and today only a couple of kids also had on red pants!
I thought it was so funny when he donned this funny jack-o-lanter head and posed with my kids. I about lost it when he sneakily put the carved pumpkin on Dan's head:I love Fall, I love the cooler weather, I love the colors, I love Halloween and I love Thanksgiving. I haven't had time to put out this season's decorations because of our fish lake trip. I remembered that we have the Davis Family FHE on the first Monday of each month and that today was our turn to host it some time Saturday night. I started digging through the boxes of crafts in the basement and was able to get everything set out and the house cleaned just in time for Dan's family to arrive:
Love, love, love gourds! {They are not balls to be thrown, Dan!!!}
I try to have areas that change with seasons instead of spreading all over the house,

And even though it doesn't really go,
Here are some of them on our front porch steps:
The Biggest ones are safe on the porch by our wicked witch
I love Halloween, I can't wait to take the kids trick or treating, I can't wait to At fish lake, and every other lake, Dan is a catch and release kind of guy. He makes sure they swim away and live to be caught another day. On Saturday morning, Dan and Bry went out early again and were hooking 'em in left and right {I still haven't seen any pictures to prove it...} but when Dan came stomping in our little rented cabin with a real life fish, I was shocked. He showed the kids the fish he kept and explained that this one died before he could let it swim away. They were troubled, to say the least.

This morning we woke up to a quiet cabin, with no men! They left to go freeze their toes off ~ before the sun began to shine! We got dressed and ready for the day and were waiting and waiting for them to get back for some hot breakfast. After sitting in a 12x24 foot box with two restless munchkins we went for a walk.

This is The Fish Lake Lodge, it is huge and very old. We were looking for textures to make rubbings of and they loved how the old logs felt.

We found lots and lots of leaves and they posed for me ~ a little bit!
I loved the deck on the lake side of the lodge. The old wood slats were making Chloe very nervous. She was walking very carefully, leery of the differences in the planks. Seth just wanted to find more sticks and bugs!

The leaves were so beautiful on the mountain side. The many colors of orange, yellows, reds and browns were in abundance and it seemed we were alone on the lake.
