Bowling Fat Cats

Today we went bowling and used our Trick-or-Treat Tickets, only 10¢ a game!!!

The Fat Cats in Ogden has the Pizza Factory attached to it and we enjoyed their

fabulous bread sticks and because it wasn't busy and because our food hadn't come out,

they let the kids bowl 2 games!  I love affordable outings with friends!!!

Halloween Dinner

I Love Halloween and have a Husband who Poo-poo's it (except for the candy).  He skipped FHE last night because he didn't want to dress up.  I've wanted to make Halloween dinners like my sisters but have never followed through with it because no one will eat it.  After making another meal that everyone poo-poo'd I decided to make something that I love.  I don't know why but shepherds pie or bishops casserole is one of my favorite fall dinners.  I added cloves for the eyes but you could taste them (or maybe just smell them) even in the ghosts that we didn't add them to.  What should I have used for eyes?

Dan went riding today with some buddies and I took the kids to a Trunk-or-Treat at Young Chevrolet in Layton. They had a huge line up for six pieces of candy out of the trun of six shiny new cars. It was a slow process because the line was actually for pumpkin bowling. My kids learned pretty quickly that there really wasn't a line for the bounce slide and they did it over and over and over!!!  They were quite flippy:

I Voted

This morning I woke up to the excitement of my childrens squeals of delight! 

It snowed!!!  They begged me to let them stay home from school so that they

could build a snowman and snow fort... But I had plans and the State says

they must go ~ I voted today with my sweet friend Denise and when we got home: 

It's sad but Chloe and Seth went to school knowing that

by the time they got home it would be melted.

Best Play Date Ever

Sometimes I qualify for the meanest Mom ever.  Today I finally put our smoking cauldren together and plugged it in.  The kids can't leave it alone... So I figured it was close enough to fill it up with water and make my little witches potions come to life!

The second reason it went up today was because Seth was having two of the Cutest and Sweetest girls coming over (twin sisters from his school class) to play!!!

His Dad likes to tease him about all the girls he likes but he is just such a sweet boy that they flock to him.  He is always trying to be a gentleman around me and I think he tries with these little ladies.  Their mom tells me that he always watches out for them and compliments them on their cuteness!

Mom's Sale

We worked our tales off at Mom's house sorting and choosing her cast offs.  It was almost better than Christmas!  She had set side a set of her dishes for each of us, I get the Blue Willow set.  She had selected items for us trying to be fair.  My mother tries her damnedest to make it equal between eight children. I think she succeeded! Everything else she felt she wouldn't have room for she sold and then delivered to Deseret Industries. 

 

I came home with Wendy in the middle of the night, she was my ride and Russ needed the tools in the back of their truck.  When I got home, Seth had just got this brand new shiner:

My niece Maggie just got one too and Seth can't wait to see whose turns out better!

Free Day

I stopped by RC Willey to pick up a free pillow and noticed these great halloween busts. I will have to check back on them when they go on sale a little more.  I did get my pillow, a knife set, and a babycakes pie pop maker all for FREE!

 Chloe got to go to the black island farms and they needed a photographer, ME!

 They all loved the big slides!

All of the students got to choose their own pumpkin after a tractor ride around the fields and they told me to get my own pumpkin, for free!

Muddy Buddies

I was asked to bring Muddy Buddies to our Girl Party for Swiss Days.

While they were cooling down, Chloe wanted to make some so bad. 

She loves to help in the kitchen! 

She made a batch on Saturday while the Boys went fishing.

SO, SO HAPPY!!!

Muddy Buddies Recipe

9 cups Rice Chex®,

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
½ cup peanut butter
¼ cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cups powdered sugar

1.  Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.

2.  In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.

3.  Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

The Out House Tour

Chloe:  "Mom, when are we going to the out house?"
Me:  "The Out House, what Out House?"
Chloe:  "You know, the out house on the way to Bear Lake."
Me:  "What are you talking about, we always stop at Chevron to fill up on gas and go to the bathroom."
Chloe:  "No, no, no, the out house in Brigham City, you know, the temple."
Me:  "Do you mean the Open House?  At the Brigham City Temple?"
Chloe:  "Yeah, Duh!"

She just can't wait to get married in the temple!

100 Minutes

I was tucking Seth into bed last night and asked him not to wake me up until 7:00 AM in the morning. He usually gets too excited for things and wakes up at 5:00 AM. 5:30 AM, 6:00 AM & 6:30 AM, asking if it is time. So this morning, I woke up to my alarm and these two rushing into my room all dressed, hair done, backpacks on, lunches made, ready to go. School doesn't start until 8:45 AM. It was the longest 100 minutes!!!

Seth started 1st Grade and Chloe started 3rd Grade!

Okay, so this is how I imagine this conversation went:

Wal-Mart Employee: “Hello ‘dis be Walmarts, how can I help you?”
Customer: “I would like to order a cake for a going away party this week.”
Wal-Mart Employee: “What you want on da cake?”
Customer: “Best Wishes Suzanne and underneath that, We will miss you”.
