We caught a fish, we caught a fish!!!

We pulled into Willard Bay and had just launched the boat when this sea plane comes motoring through the marina:

It was pretty cool to watch it drive up the ramp and circle around:

(The kids were surprised that it had wheels and wings...)

Dan pulled back to the dock and had me hold the boat while he and the kids went and talked to the pilot, he said the pilot had been restoring the plane for years. 

After a quick discussion, the pilot too their picture then agreed to take off again

Racing was the best,

until Dan realized he was red lining the new motor,

and the sea plane won!!!

I had stopped recording but the plane circled around and back

and the pilot gave us a huge goofy wave and we all waved back like he was a rock star!

First time out in 2012 and we already caught a fish!!!

That's got to be some kind of a record...

Dan thinks it might be a splake???

It was a little chilly for me but was an awesome day to shake off those winter blues!
